Comparing the Tales
When you hear the word "fairytales" what comes to mind? For most, images of pretty princesses and handsome princes pop into their head; stories about love, and good always winning against the battle of evil, and dreams that never fail to come true. Fairy tales today are not what they once were in the past. In today's society, when one thinks of fairy tales their mind tends to wander towards Disney and the sparkly perfect images that they have created. This was not always the case. At one time, thoughts of fairy tales would conjure darker versions filled with witches and death and morals to be learned, sometimes at the cost of life. Stories that were brought forth by authors such as Charles Perrault, and The Brothers Grimm. These dark, and sometimes terrifying, tales were meant to teach lessons, and were not as much meant for the kids as they were for adults. Click below for more information on each type of fairytale.
